I have had several conversations recently about the Law of Attraction and I really enjoy them because I get to turn that into a moment of learning.
Others say "Law of Attraction" and I say "Law of Recognition". Now, I admit that "attraction" much more fun than "recognition" and, I think Law of Recognition is a more accurate expression of what is happening.
You see, it is regularly proven that opposites attract. We can see this in science by observing magnetic poles. We can see this all around us in many different ways. What is happening in the attraction process is the playing out of the universal rule of balance. The universe, or energy, like water, is constantly seeking a point of stasis. Anytime energy is not in stasis, then its opposite energy must move in to establish balance. This is the idea behind yin yang.
So, why is it that we say "Law of Attraction"? The answer is "for simplicity". It is easier to think of things as being created into reality when we cannot see them than it is to think of then as actually existing, and real, when we cannot see them. The fact of the matter is this, what you want does exists in the here and now. To assume otherwise is to deny the existence of universal energy in the here and now.
Law of Recognition sets up the condition in the mind that what you desire is already present in the here and now. Your role is to recognize it, label it, claim it. The energy of your perfect job is present right now. It is out there. You must define what it is, give it a name and claim it as your own. The same process applies for relationships, health and every other area of your life.

Create Your Own Personal Improvement Team
We made it! 2011 is here and many of us start of with new-found optimism and commitment. New year resolutions abound!
Celebrate your enthusiasm. Stay true to your commitment. Realize that you are only doing this for yourself and... isn't it nice to give yourself this gift? You bet it is!
Us people are funny beings. We think that just because the numbers of our year rollover, something magical happens. Well, just between you and me, something magical does happen!
Together, as a group consciousness, we decide to make a change. That is very powerful (and magical) energy - so long as we all share in that energy by telling what we expect of ourselves and holding each other accountable for the personal achievement of it.
Let me tell you what happens to a lot of folks. They will commit to change, and even tell their friends and family about it, only to let that commitment go later. Why??? because we too often don't hold ourselves accountable for getting the result. It's easier to hold someone else accountable isn't it? ;-)
Here is what you do... get yourself an accountability partner. Each day, you have a 5 to 10 minute check-in and tell your partner what you accomplished yesterday and what you are committed to for today.
I have been working with my accountability partner for about a year now and during the holidays, while she was away on vacation, I noticed that I didn't seem to be as organized or focused. An accountability partner will help you stay on your game and help you see those New Year Resolutions through.
